The Buffalo Brass Quintet is the longest established group of its type in Western New York and has performed at innumerable weddings, recitals and ceremonies throughout the area since 1972.
We have an extensive library of music allowing us to help you program the most suitable music to enhance any occasion. No event, be it solemn, joyous or just for amusement and/or entertainment, is beyond our musical and performing abilities.
The Buffalo Brass Quintet is comprised of five professional musicians whom you will find both cooperative and personable when planning and performing for your wedding, church service or recital program. Additionally, we have a DVD available for your review.

Biographies
Tim Schwartz (French Horn) has been an active freelance horn player for many years, playing with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, Columbus Symphony, National Ballet of Canada, Joffery Ballet, Barry White and the Love Unlimited Orchestra, as well as scores of national musical productions. He is also a member of the Buffalo Brass Quintet. Tim can be heard on a number of recordings. He has recorded two CDs of Lowell Shaw's Fripperies for Horn Quartet and ...ipperies, a further collection of Mr. Shaw's music. Tim received his Bachelor of Music from Houghton College and his Masters of Music Education from SUNY at Buffalo.
Robert King (Trombone) earned his Bachelor of Music degree from SUNY at Fredonia and his Masters in Arts and Humanities from the University of Buffalo. He is presently retired from the Hamburg Central Schools after a long career teaching instrumental music at the Middle School.
He has been a freelance musician playing with the Buffalo Philharmonic, Clarence Summer Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, The Buffalo Opera Company, Amherst Symphony, Eddie O Big Band, Pyramid Dance Band and pit orchestras at Shea's and Artpark. He has also played for many national touring ensembles and is a member of the Buffalo Brass Quintet.
He resides in Hamburg with his wife, and has a daughter and three grandchildren.
Geoffrey Hardcastle (Trumpet), has been a member of The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra section since 2004. He also served as second trumpet with The Cleveland Orchestra from 1997-1999. He is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music receiving a Bachelors and Masters in music performance. He has studied with James Stamp, Bernard Adelstein and David Zauder. Geoffrey is also a very active chamber musician performing worldwide with the Center City Brass Quintet and Proteus 7. He is currently on faculty at Canisius College. Geoffrey is the newest member of the Buffalo Brass Quintet.
Richard Riederer (Trumpet) is presently in his twelfth year of teaching music at Frontier High School where he serves as conductor of the Symphonic Band. He received a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from the Hartt School of Music and a Masters of Music degree from Bowling Green State University. Rich has performed locally as a freelance trumpeter with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Clarence summer orchestra, as well as in pit orchestras at Shea's and Artpark Theaters. Mr. Riederer resides on Grand Island with his wife and three children.
Jim Pace (Tuba) earned his BM (Music Ed.) from SUNY Fredonia and MA (Music Ed.) from the University at Buffalo. He also attended the Hochschule für Musik in Graz, Austria. Jim is the retired senior high orchestra director and music department chair from Lake Shore Central Schools. In addition to the Buffalo Brass Quintet, Jim performs with The Frankfurters German Band and Bison City Stompers Dixieland Band. He also plays cello with the Richmond String Quartet in addition to freelancing throughout the Western New York area.
